Path of the Heart
Energetics, tools for change and sacred pilgrimage.
Energetics
Bypassing the conscious mind into the vast depths of the subconscious is the gateway to accessing our patterns and belief systems. Our words create our reality, forming pathways in the brain wiring us to recreate certain events and feelings over and over again. These fulfill certain emotional needs, whether nurturing or self defeating and our reactions can be very elusive to our conscious mind. A program running a program within us until we decide to reprogram and upgrade to a new internal operating system. No different from a record player stuck on the same song over and over again. No amount of screaming at it to stop, praying, begging, intending or hoping will do anything. You must physically walk over, lift the needle and remove the record to play a new song.
Recurring patterns further embed that which we focus upon the most, again often times our fears. Similar to a rat on a wheel. This can be a self fulfilling prophecy going nowhere, no matter how fast we run. Only we can stop by getting off the wheel.
The beliefs we hold, patterns we develop, and experiences we walk through all work in conjunction with our endocrine and nervous systems. Our hypothalamus in the brain releases the chemicals that “feed” our desires, healthy or otherwise, into our bodies. Thus, our addictions are met through our thoughts and subconscious patterns that will physically draw into our daily lives those experiences our belief systems are entangled in. Shifting our neural net family groups in our brains is directly rooted within shifting our beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and patterns. We have to be willing to “let go” of the dependencies that create the pain in our lives, replacing them with what we do wish to have in our lives, trusting this is possible and being willing to lay a new inner foundation of wellness.
Everything in life has a vibrational frequency. We are all continuously sending out information via energy waves that vibrate based on our feelings and emotional state. By the time we hold a thought, the intent has already been formed and the energetic frequency released. What would be considered unhealthy or negative emotions resonate at a much lower vibrational frequency than positive emotional states. Wherever our focus lies is what life will respond with in return. The good news is that Positive feelings and thoughts have stronger signature waves in general so this helps to hold our new birthing foundation.
Furthermore in this process, we store and hold emotions in corresponding body parts which has a tremendous affect upon our own internal meridian system, energy flow, and health. Here lies the mother root of imbalance, sadness, and disease. Since we are primarily comprised of water, our thoughts have a powerful effect on our cells, tissues, and DNA.
None of us can walk the path for any other person. We can only help one another to gather strength in regaining self confidence to go forward with the journey.
Tools for Change
For those of you wishing to begin the process of reconnecting to your true self, there are some tools that can greatly enhance the process.
- Breathe... It sounds simple. It is amazing how many of us do not breathe properly. Spend a minimum of 10 minutes twice a day sitting quietly and deep breathing into your belly, your solar plexus. As your tummy fills, then allow your lungs to fill and slowly reverse this process. As you walk through your day, notice how you breathe. As you feel more comfortable expand your practice with a counting exercise. Breathe in for a count of 4, for example, hold your breathe for this same count, exhale for the count of four and wait for the same count. This process is extremely helpful for calming the body and the mind, quieting the chatter and restoring centeredness. As you do this, visualize, a beautiful root from your root chakra growing down into the core of the earth and anchoring you to mother. Breath her light and presence deeply through your spinal cord and out the top of your head high into the universal skies. See this looping as infinity back down through you back down into mother earth. this process not only keeps you centered and present and breathing properly but also keeps you from holding onto or tensing into situations.
- Find your one point. As you step into these breathing techniques, begin to focus your attention into your “one point”. This point is approximately an inch below your belly button. Throughout your day, notice where your attention is focused. Where do you hold yourself in your body or mind? Continue to bring yourself back to your one point. This is your core, your center and allows you to remain in the “eye of the hurricane” so to speak. This is a powerful practice that reduces stress and allows one to maintain clarity and openness while moving forward with purpose and direction.
- Gratitude. Be grateful, humble, and appreciative. Again, this sounds simple yet is remarkably overlooked. Look at everything in your life and be grateful for all that fills your life. As we open our hearts, life opens and gives back. Give freely from this space of gratitude.
- Connect with nature. Walk, hike, sit, just be with nature, with your breath. Feel your surroundings. What do you notice? Where is your attention?
- Create! Dance, sing, write, draw, cook, play, laugh, anything that moves your body and brings joy, a lightness of being. This moves energy and releases endorphins within the brain. Allow yourself to have fun.
- Feel your feelings. Honor them, allow them, release them, let go of them. The Ho’oponopono prayer of forgiveness for yourself or another is powerful. Forgiveness does not mean what happened is ok, it means loving yourself and seeing the flaws in yourself and others is bigger. Healing and living are more important to you than staying stuck...
My hope in sharing these tools is that healing, giving and centeredness can be attained and spread from person to person allowing all of us to reach our higher potentials in sharing and giving to one another and all life on earth.
Sacred Pilgrimage
What is pilgrimage? As with anything in life, how we “do” something greatly determines the flow of our experience. When we fully engage and let go of any perceived outcome, we can receive the gifts meant for our highest unfolding.
Pilgrimage is an action of sacred engagement. A time to be with oneself, earth mother and source. Pilgrimage offers opening, expansion, cleansing, clarification, processing, purification, surrender and awakening. This opens the door way for profound inner and outer re-connection, transformation, even rebirth and realignment. A chiropractic adjustment of the soul. Sacred pilgrimage in silence, having the Courage to feel deeply seated emotions, riding wave after wave with your breath until you are carried to the shore, to a soft beach where you can stand upon new ground. This is not an easy process. It can feel vulnerable and frightening, enlightening and exciting, overwhelming and freeing. Regardless of where you were when you started, this path is filled with light and hope, blessings and kindness.
Embarking upon this type of journey is a leap of faith but isn’t each moment that we are breathed indeed just that...
Together with my loss of my dearest friend, Grandfather Joe, life took my most precious and beloved light as well, my son. My twin flame, my only child and the artist of my beautiful Book, “My Horse, The Hummingbird and A Very Small Tiger”. There is no language that could justly translate the emotions of my heart or the intensity of my journey. I flew to France in the late Fall of 2015 and began walking over the Pyrenees mountains. I continued walking for many, many weeks. I walked and breathed, breathed and walked, sobbed and walked, walked and sobbed, repeating mantras with every breath, guided by and from my heart meditations. Powerful experiences, profound blessings somehow kept me going against all odds, against all forms of weather, through layers of exhaustion and pain, through sadness and finally through utter surrender.
I walked over 550 miles into December, walking through part of France and into and through much of Northern Spain, walking the Camino de Santiago. I pushed myself on every level of my being, going further into myself, further into each moment, further into each step and breath that breathed me onward. Step after step after step. The ancient trail that guards and cradles the millions of prayers of so many pilgrims. Over 1000 years are preciously held by this Sacred Camino.
It would be another section entirely for me to share in regards to the powerful journey these hundreds of miles unfolded. Sometimes in life, we are brought together with others for a brief encounter, others for longer and a treasured few stay with us for a lifetime.
May each of you have the courage to listen to the voice of your heart and continue step by step, leap by leap as there is great beauty even in the depths of the hardest walk. We each truly serve a purpose, each a cog in the wheel of the whole.
May we show one another kindness and tenderness. We never know when the roles shall be reversed and we shall be the next one in need of compassion and love.
